AR Sisters Welcome Advent Season in the Light of Hope

The communities of Saint Rita College-Manila, Our Lady of Sacred Heart High School-Quezon City and Saint Joseph College, Cavite City gathered for a recollection at 9:00 am on December 2, 2018 with Reverend Father Vicente Cadeliña, OAR as the facilitator. He pointed out advent as a season of hope giving us direction to go and move forward as we await the coming of Christ. Advent as hope was beautifully captured in the movie he showed entitled “God in the Dock.” It was concluded with a Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with the lighting of the advent wreath by Reverend Mother Lucena L. Antipala, A.R.

At 4:00 p.m. of the same day, some sisters together with the aspirants joined the recollect brothers in the propagation of the devotion of Nuestra Señora de la Salud in the 39th Grand Marian Procession held in Intramuros, Manila. It was about three kilometers procession worth the whole mysteries of the holy rosary offered for those who are asking her intercession in a hope that they will always receive the miracle God has for them.

Furthermore, some communities welcomed the new liturgical year focusing on the year of the youth. Saint Paul Academy-Bantayan, Saint Rita College-Manila, Lady Mediatrix Institute-Candelaria, Saint Raphael Academy-Legazpi City and Virgin of Carmel High School-Tiwi Albay had its 4th Augustinian Recollect Student Crusaders (ARSC) local Congress few days before the Advent Sunday. This scholastic year is intended for local congresses so that all students, as youth, will be given a chance to witness the goodness of God. They were given time to reflect the Word of God and to share communion and joy in their company.

On the eve of the 1st Sunday, Saint Rita College-Manila and Colegio de Sta. Rosa Intramuros shared hope to our less fortunate brethren through the Talangpaz Outreach Program (TOP). The people of the vicinity came to share the joy Christ has for them.

In the light of hope, may every sister in the community and every ARSCian and all generations will venerate “Our Lady of La Salud” and welcome her Son with gaiety.
